Tecno, a company has released a new smartphone to cater to the growing mobile demand. The Tecno POVA flaunts a 6.8-inch LCD screen with a 720 x 1640 pixels HD+ resolution.
The display offers a 20.5:9 aspect ratio and a 90.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. The design includes a plastic body and weighs 215.5 grams. The rear panel houses the quad-camera setup and also the fingerprint sensor – completing the smartphone look.

The Tecno POVA draws power from an octa-core Mediatek Helio G80 chipset built on a 12nm architecture. The SoC is coupled with ARM Mali-G52 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 64GB default memory capacity.
Tecno has given users the option for storage expansion up to 256GB with the help of a microSD card. The hardware performance of the Tecno POVA is pretty efficient, allowing users to seamlessly experience all their smartphone tasks, including browsing, gaming, video playback, and more.

For imaging, the Tecno POVA sports a quad-camera setup assisted by AI. The sensors include a 16MP wide-angle primary lens with f/1.85, a 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro shooter, and an AI QVGA sensor.
One will find the LED Flash to assist in photography. Tecno has included an 8MP AI camera for selfies and video calling. The cameras are capable of recording videos at 1080p@30fps, and support features like HDR, Bokeh, AI Camera, Slow Motion Video, and so on.
The camera setup is pretty mediocre, and the low-light photography performance can be slightly disappointing.

Tecno POVA is available in two models, costing Rs. 9,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and Rs. 11,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.
For the asking price, the Tecno POVA offers some good features like an immersive, large display and an efficient performance. That said, it has some tough competition from the like of Redmi 9 Prime and Poco M2, which offer better camera specs.
This mobile comes with a large 6,000 mAh battery, which is one of its key highlights. The battery is assisted by 18W dual IC fast charging support, which further enhances the overall performance. Also, the Tecno POVA runs HiOS 7.0 based on Android 10, which offers a smooth software experience.
The smartphone sensors measure physical quantities and transmit them to the application processor. The phones’s accelerometer is a built-in electronic component that measures tilt and motion.
A fingerprint sensor is one of the easiest and most secure ways to protect your smartphone. The proximity sensor detects when a user is holding the phone near their face during a call and turns off the display to prevent keypad presses and battery consumption from the display.
The Pova has Dual SIM capability, which means that you can insert two different SIM cards and use them both from one phone.
Tecno Pova comes as one of the latest entries in the budget segment, however, it has some tough competition. If you’re looking for a smartphone within Rs. 10,000, Tecno POVA is a good choice. However, do note that there are several other choices in the market that offer even better features.
Battery and Charging
Tecno Pova is One of the main selling points for this device is the large-capacity 6000mAh battery. Unlike the Pouvoir 4, this uses a quick charge functionality called 18W Dual IC Flash Charge. The brand claims that Dual IC fast charge is 20% faster than regular 18W fast chargers.
In real world application, this barely is the case. The phone still takes 1 ½ hours of charging from 0-100% and that is the usual speed for an 18W charging capacity. But given the massive battery size compared to 18W charging devices,
