Redmi, the sub-brand of Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 10 5G series in China. The line up includes two devices, namely Redmi Note 10 5G and Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G. The new smartphone comes with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G with MediaTek’s Density 1100 SoC which makes this phone 5G ready, unlike India’s model.
There is no word on whether Xiaomi will bring the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G to India. One of the highlights of the phone is an Adaptive sync variable refresh rate which allows the phone to switch between 120Hz, 90Hz, 60Hz, 50Hz, 48Hz, and 24Hz depending on the content playing. Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 10 series in India in March. It had three phones Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. All three models only supported 4G connectivity.
Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G specifications
The Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G features a 6.6-inch full-HD+(2,400×1,080 pixels) LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5. The display has a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 450nits brightness, DCI-P3 color gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The device is IP53 certified for dust and water resistance packed 5,000mAh battery on the phone that supports 67W fast charging.
The 5G device sports a triple rear camera setup that has a 64-megapixel primary sensor for a 120-degree field of view, a secondary 8-megapixel shooter, and another 2-megapixel macro camera. At the front, the phone has a 16-megapixel camera sensor for selfies and video chats.
The charger is capable of charging the device fully in 42 minutes. The camera department is a triple camera setup with a 64MP wide lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro camera. It features a 16MP camera in the front for selfies and video calls. This camera system is a downgrade from the one featured in Redmi Note 10 Pro and Pro max offered in international markets. Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G supports dual-SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC 3.0. It is IP53 rated and sports a fingerprint sensor on the side and USB Type-C. It lacks some sweet but forgotten slots like a 3.5MM jack and an expandable microSD card slot.
Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G Price and Availability
The Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G’s price in China starts at CNY 1,599 (approx Rs 18,200) for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option, CNY 1,799 (approx Rs 20,500) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option, and CNY 1,999 (approx Rs 22,800) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option. It is available to pre-book in Magic Green, Star Yarn, and Moon Soul colour options. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 10 5G comes in four storage options, and its price start at CNY 1,099 (approx Rs 12,500).
The smartphone will be available in Chrome Silver, Graphite Gray, Nighttime Blue, and Aurora Green color options. It will go on sale in China from June 1.
