Poco C3 Launched in India

Poco C3 smartphone is a device by the Poco company that was launched in India on 6th of October,2020.The entry-level smartphone by Poco in the market might not be as exciting as the mainstream segments, but it is still amazing to see the kind of features the users are offered today at relatively lower prices. Poco C3, is Poco’s first sub-Rs. 10,000 smartphone to be launched in India.

With prices of the Poco phone starting at Rs. 7,499, the Poco C3 comes with a large display and battery life, triple rear cameras and a gaming-oriented SoC. The main rivals of the latest Poco smartphone include the Redmi 9A and Realme C11. The Poco C3 is quite a large mobile. The smartphone measures 9mm in thickness and is also heavy weighing about 194 grams. However, the build quality of the mobile is decent. The back and side frame of the smartphone are made of plastic and the users would get rounded edges on all sides of the mobile.

Poco claims that the C3 version of the phone has a P2i coating, which should help protect it against accidental splashes of water. The phone is also available in Matte Black and Arctic Blue colours. The majority of the back panel has a textured pattern, which helps the users to have a better grip of the phone and also prevents the mobile from picking up fingerprints easily.

There is also a headphone jack as well as a Micro-USB port that comes with the mobile .The SIM tray of the smartphone can hold two nano-SIMs and a microSD card. There is no fingerprint sensor on this phone, which again, is something that is not guaranteed on phones taht comes in this budget. You do get face recognition, which is slow, but it works even with a face mask on.

The Poco C3 smartphone offers a large display, but naturally, only with a HD+ resolution (1600×720). It comes with a 6.53-inch LCD panel with Panda Glass screen protection, for scratch protection. The display is not that vibrant and the brightness is just about adequate indoors. However, the screen washes out pretty badly, making it hard to use the phone under sunlight. The display also has thick borders all around it, especially the bottom. There is also a dewdrop notch for the selfie camera.

The users would get a charging cable, a 10W charger, a SIM eject tool, and some documentation. There is not a case or headset available with the phone. Overall, the Poco C3 seems like a well-built smartphone by Poco for the price, even though it is a little too heavy and unwieldy for one-handed use. The Poco C3 runs MIUI 12, but unlike Redmi phones running MIUI, Poco claims that it’s version of the phone has been tweaked to not show any ads or promotional content.

The MIUI 12 experience feels familiar. The users would still get a bunch of apps such as Zili and small games preinstalled in the mobile, but these apps can be uninstalled.

Coming to the specs and performance of the Poco smartphone,The Poco C3 uses the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, which is found in manyother phones in this segment, including the Realme C11 smartphone. The base variant of the C3 version of the phone comes with a 3GB RAM and a 32GB internal storage, and is priced at Rs. 7,499, while the higher one has a 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that comes for Rs. 8,999. Other features of the phone includes dual-4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and FM radio.

The one area where the Poco C3 phone really excels is battery life. This Poco smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery capacity which easily lasts for around two days, with medium to light usage. Even with a lot of gaming, the users will still be able to get around a day and half, which is very good. The only thing is the long time needed to charge the battery. With the bundled adapter, the C3’s battery charged to just 37 percent in an hour, and took almost three hours to charge completely.
